Palak Sindhwani, popularly known for her role as Sonu Bhide in the long-running television show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC), has made shocking allegations against the show’s producers. The actress, who recently quit the show, has opened up about harassment and unpaid dues, leading to a legal battle between her and Neela Film Productions, the company behind TMKOC.
5 Disturbing Allegations Against TMKOC Producers
In a recent interview with ETimes, Palak Sindhwani disclosed that she was subjected to emotional harassment and that the production team owes her a significant amount of Rs 21 lakh in unpaid dues. She claimed the producers created a hostile work environment and forced her to continue working under strenuous conditions, even when she was unwell.
Palak revealed that her decision to leave the show was met with resistance, and the situation escalated when rumors surfaced that the producers were planning legal action against her. The allegations were centered around her reportedly working on other projects without their consent. However, Palak strongly denied these claims, asserting that the production team had never discussed an exclusivity clause in her contract.

Emotional Stress and Work Exploitation
The actress explained that her ordeal worsened in August when she informed the producers of her intent to leave the show. Rather than amicably resolving the situation, Palak found herself in a highly stressful environment, which took a toll on her emotional well-being.
“They exploited me, thinking I wouldn’t make it until May,” Palak stated. “The emotional toll was enormous—I was crying in the makeup room, trying to compose myself before the scenes. I worked despite being sick, providing medical reports and asking for a break, but I was still made to shoot 12-hour shifts.”
Legal Battle and Threats
On September 18, Palak had a meeting with the production team to discuss her concerns. She was shocked when the producers, for the first time, accused her of breaching the contract, an accusation she had never heard before. According to Palak, the producers went as far as threatening to delete her Instagram account and prevent her from collaborating with brands. She pointed out that other actors from the show were also working with brands, but her contract was supposedly different, which she had never been informed about.

Palak’s team later issued a statement regarding the outstanding Rs 21 lakh dues, confirming that despite the unpaid salary, the production company still expected her to continue working. She is now considering taking legal action for harassment and mistreatment.
Raising Awareness of Industry Issues
This controversy highlights the broader issue of how actors are treated in the television industry. Palak Sindhwani’s harassment story has sparked a conversation about working conditions, unfair treatment, and the rights of actors. The focus keyword “Palak Sindhwani harassment” not only emphasizes her specific experience but also brings attention to the challenges many face behind the scenes in the entertainment industry.
As the legal battle unfolds, all eyes are on the TMKOC producers and how they will address these serious allegations. Palak Sindhwani’s courage in speaking out has given rise to important discussions about mental health, work exploitation, and actor’s rights, which may lead to significant changes in the industry.
